Smartelectronix Smartelectronix is a group of people who make music software. We are scattered all across the globe, but we are bound together by our shared interest in making music software that resists the current trends and norms in the music software world. We prefer to make more unusual, interesting, experimental stuff. We also share pretty high quality standards. And we like to make our software free or at least affordable. (Some of us who make our software available for free do also appreciate donations, though.)

MjCompressor update New MjCompressor version for both Windows VST and Mac OS X VST. Attack and release are now separate controls, and there are some extra convenience parameters that allow for easy New York style compression. Get it here! Classic tools update: GUI + MacOSX port All the classic tools are now available for both windows and macosx. with a dedicated GUI. And there's a new plugin: DuckVerb, similar as DuckDelay but with a reverb. MdspDuckVerb MdspFlanger MdspDuckDelay MdspCompressor AnalogDelay 1.0.1 Finally there is an update for AnalogDelay which is now donationware. It's still free and fully functionnal, but there is a nag screen on the GUI. if you make a donation for it I'll send you a version without the nag screen. MjHarmonicPingOnly ported to OS X VST and updated on Windows VST MjHarmonicPingOnly is a just intonation percussive synth. Get it here. Changes from last version include better velocity response and easier tuning. Taurus beta preview Taurus beta has been released. It is a virtual recreation of a famous 70s bass pedal synthesizer used by such bands as Rush and Genesis for example. Grab it here. VST->Winamp Bridge Update A new version of the VST->Winamp Bridge is available. This version includes VWBvstB.dll which should be used in hosts like Ableton Live which freeze when using the older version. check it out VST->Winamp Bridge A little plugin (two plugins actually) so you can control winamps payback from your VST host. The playback position of your host is sent to winamp so when your press play in Audiomulch, Winamp should start playing. If your transport is at 30 seconds in Audiomulch when you press play, then Winamp should start playing at 30 seconds into the current track. This should be handy if you want to score movies using hosts that don't have built in media players. Check it out! Foorius 1.1 Released dmi has released an update to Foorius. Lots of new features and bug fixes! Check it out! MjCompressor ported to Mac OS X I have ported MjCompressor to Mac OS X, following NyquistEq which I ported earlier. MjCompressor is a single band compressor with transparency and low pumping, due to reacting with varying speed as appropriate for the input frequency content. Get it here! The Freesound Project This is quite non-smex related, but I wanted to let you all know about the project I'm working on in Spain - as it's very related to music and music-making. http://freesound.iua.upf.edu is a website for exchanging creative-commons audio material. Foorius v1.0 Now Available Foorius v1.0 is now availble. Yaay! It's a VSTi with lots of different synthesis methods supported. Windows only. You can read about it and download it here NyquistEq for OS X Since I recently bought a nice little Mac Mini, I've started to port some of my plugins to OS X. First out is NyquistEq. Grab it here! It's a parametric graphic equalizer with an intuitive interface and an especially natural response in the treble and bass where many other digital eqs fall short.
