CD Review: The City Skyscape

Fans of euro-techno bands like Depeche Mode will find much to love about Christopher Mongillo's homemade recording project, The City Skyscape. The debut album is shimmering with analog synth melodies and soaring vocals; and it's the vocals that really nail this as the real deal. When Mongillo runs out a falsetto arpeggio in the break on the first track, "The Notorious Kelly Monroe," you know you're in for something special. And the rest of the album does not disappoint. You'll be hearing much more from this project. Highly recommended. --Bryan Baker, GAJOOB/homemademusic.com
