to Franklin Bruno... "i bought franklin bruno suggestion box back in high school and would love to get a digital copy for my computer. i have not perfected the cassette to computer transfer. is this possibly? suggestion box has remained one of my favorites and would love to hear the lunch i never had on my ipod itunes should really expand to all music. allutep5000"-- allutep5000 (on 08/15/10 23:40:49) to Joseph Benzola... "Hey there Joe, not sure about you, but I started off as a "home-taper, cassette underground" guy way back in the early 80's, so it's kind of appropriately odd to wind up somehow there again at the other end of it. Okay, hope you're well enough and just wanted to say that your new CD's a real earful buffet, and it's an honor for me to belly-up to that bar my friend. So work the work, don't lose the faith, and keep your ears attached to your hands just in case your muse is on the loose your comrade, daniel"-- danstearns (on 07/23/10 22:46:51) to Daniel Prendiville... Homemade Music Signup Please also read the ABOUT page before creating your profile. There's 20+ years of history to this website you might want to know about. If you already have a profile here as part of my coverage of your homemade music activities, you can get started easiest by just taking it over. Send me a note and I'll send you information. The artists who participate at homemademusic.com create a community of creative exchange. This is NOT set up to be a promotional site or a site to host all of your music. There are already plenty of those places, as you probably know, and they're great. Your music is probably on them. Mine is too. I like bandcamp, reverbnation, alonetone, soundclick, lastfm to name just a few. I have my own website and I also show up on facebook quite a bit and skim twitter every so often. I've got videos on youtube and photos on flickr. We pull in activities from various places so you don't have to duplicate them here. Post recordings you really want to talk about here, or recordings you make for various projects listed here. So, how do you get started? First, you can make a profile page just like everywhere else, only we want to know about all these other places where you're doing things as well, so artists interacting here can see all that. Just go to the artists link in the menu on the right. There's a lot there, because some like this and some like that -- don't feel like you need to fill everything up. Adding a soundclick user id will put a soundclick songplayer on your profile page. Same with reverbnation. You can include pictures from flickr, a video bar from youtube, rss feeds from your wordpress blog, a twitter feed, etc. All these things update automatically, so once you've set up the link it's live. Once you're situated, start interacting. Post a recording and write about what inspired you, how you made it, etc. Go into detail. Write a blog post about what's going on in your studio, or post a link to something artists want to find out about. Blogs are a main focus and there's a lot you can do. It's wide open. You can also post photos, events, and albums. Albums are integrated with free albums you place at a number of locations like archive.org, jamendo, etc. You can also link to commercial stores like iTunes and CDBaby or directly to your own paypal account if you wish. Comment on stuff going on here and participate in projects -- and start your own. There's a lot of stuff here for a good start at making something exciting. Much more than I've mentioned here. Now it's just going to take a few artists participating and having some fun sharing and exploring to make it happen. I'm looking forward to it. --Bryan Baker new artist account
