Korg’s Gadget 3 With VST3 and AUv3 Support

Korg has announced its latest innovation in music production software: Gadget 3. This new update to the award-winning all-in-one music production software and plug-in suite comes with a host of new features that promise to make it “more powerful than ever,” according to Korg.

Central to Gadget 3 is a collection of individual music-making devices or ‘gadgets’. These span everything from synthesizers and drum machines to audio and MIDI effects. With this third iteration, two new gadgets have been added to the suite, bringing the total to over 40.

The first new gadget is Santa Ana, a rhythm guitar software instrument, followed by Sydney, a looper sampler machine designed for importing long samples and manipulating loops.

But what makes Gadget 3 truly stand out is its long-awaited support for VST3 and AUv3. This feature allows gadget instruments to be used with popular music production apps like Garageband and Logic Pro.

In addition, the Gadget 3 update introduces a Gadget Browser for sound search, a revamped Play Page with an easier-to-use scale menu, and Genre Select. This last feature lets you select your favorite genre and sound from a selection of presets, then start songwriting by freely combining patterns.

Five new effects further expand the possibilities of your music production. These include an 8-Band EQ, Transient Shaper, Stereo Imager, Auto Pumper, and Pitch Shifter.

KORG Gadget 3 is available for multiple platforms including iOS, Mac, Nintendo Switch, VR devices, and as a plug-in version for use with your favorite DAW on Mac/PC. The iOS app is priced at $19.99, the macOS version costs $249, while the plugins-only package is available for $149.

With these new features and improvements, Korg’s Gadget 3 promises to be a powerful tool for musicians and music producers, offering greater versatility and control over their creations.
